Kristine McClain, our WPFF Weekday Evening Personality, is a sports lover—playing softball and basketball in her youth and now coaching softball and watching a wide variety of sports. Although she follows the Packers, her favorite “team” is #24 Jeff Gordon’s race team. “Sorry folks, I love all sports but football actually is not my number one favorite,” Kristine said.
At Messiah College, Kristine enjoyed being involved with the college radio station WVMM while playing for the school’s softball team. Today, travel is a passion of Kristine’s. In fact, she has literally driven across the United States from west coast to east coast twice. Even more, Alaska has become her second home.
Some little known facts about Kristine are that she has two cats, Peanut and Moose, whom she considers to be her kids; she is half Latvian; and her most interesting job outside of radio was managing a boarding kennel.
Kristine’s work at WPFF and WNLI began with God’s perfect timing. While looking for new opportunities in Christian radio, a colleague connected her with previous General Manager Dave Gordon. The station was in need of an announcer. It was a match made in heaven!
“I enjoy serving behind-the-scenes in a variety of projects and ministries and I love using creativity, technology and music to encourage and bless people,” Kristine said.
“I'm excited that Bethesda Christian Broadcasting is putting an emphasis on providing opportunities for listeners to serve God,” Kristine said. “There's something about setting yourself aside for a while and serving other people that allows you to better align your priorities with His and to see the world through God's eyes.”
