III. OUTREACH INITIATIVES
Outreach initiatives that Bethesda Christian Broadcasting stations WNLI(FM) and WPFF(FM) have undertaken in the past year include the following:
- A Sturgeon Bay High School student counselor was notified of the radio stations’ desire to provide interested students with the opportunity to tour the radio station and discuss future employment opportunities.
- On April 14, 2011, a Sturgeon Bay High School student was on the premises most of the day job shadowing our assistant program director. The goal was to expose students to the various aspects of radio programming and the many opportunities in radio. The student learned how to do production, the basics of live radio and was given a tour of the radio stations. During this time, he was able to ask questions and take notes.
- On May 20, 2011, a Sturgeon Bay High School student was on the premises job shadowing our general manager. The goal was to expose students to the various aspects of radio programming and the many opportunities in radio. The student learned the basics of radio and was given a tour of the radio stations. During this time, he was able to ask questions and take notes.
- Radio station job openings were announced on WPFF(FM) and WNLI(FM).
- Free (no reciprocal) advertising was offered for appropriate regional Job Fairs. Two Door County, WI job fairs were announced.
- Free (no reciprocal) advertising was offered for appropriate community job openings in area businesses, upon request.
